A Big Boy Now

I am back on my blog. It's been a while I know. But I have been busy you know. It takes a lot of perseverance and commitment to get to where I am. I mean, I had to learn how to sit, crawl, walk.. Can you beat that? It all seems so easy now.. as if I have been doing it all my life! Let's see.. I am 14 months old now.. so more than half of my life I have able to sit on my own now... I have been to crawl for about half my life.. and I walked first when I was 10 months. So as you can now imagine, have become a pro at all that.

Of course, it's been a real busy time for me ever since I learnt how to climb beds and tables and chairs. There is so much stuff to examine and bang about and throw. My eyelids grow heavy and my legs ache but I'm so excited by my day's work that I hate going to bed. I make a big fuss but Mum usually has her way. Just wait till I'm older. I'll show her who's boss!

Granpa or Ajoba as I call him, can usually be relied upon to do my bidding. He takes me out in the evenings.. and lets me run about on the grass...he even lets me play in the mud. And he takes me out on the road .... I can't help but squeal and shout when I see the big red bus.

He also showed me a huge aeroplane with all its lights blinking at the Pune Airport. We were all travelling to Nagpur for Jaideep Mama's wedding.. and it was my very first flight. He held me in his lap when we took off and showed me the sight outside the window. It was fun!

Pa is another one who can be safely relied upon. I just have to wail really loudly and he lifts me right up and asks me what I want! He plays a lot with me. And makes funny faces.

I love playing with all my toys like the pull-along doggie and the TV with the wind-up key. Amita Maushi gave me the TV. When I was smaller, ma or pa used to wind up the key to play the music and move the pictures. Now I can do it on my own. But the toys I love most of all are in the Shoe Cupboard. Ah... if only they would let me play with all the boots and chappals stored there! And also the toys they call spoons and plates...

I am now learning how to talk. I can say "Humma" and "Hatth".. and most of the alphabets. Have been able to understand all the things that these adults say since some time. It makes life infinitely more convenient... for them. For they have now started ordering me around.. like an old maid - "Put the keys back from where you took them"! "Throw the paper in the bin!"... Sometimes I royally ignore them. Occasionally they tell me useful stuff. Like, "Put on your boots, we are going out!".
